Rehabilitation Program

The Rehabilitation Program is for patients with:

  • spinal cord injuries Helping Hands
  • head injuries
  • strokes
  • neuro-muscular disorders
  • central nervous system injuries and illnesses
  • severe arthritis
  • major trauma
  • congenital disorders
  • orthopedic injuries
  • amputations
  • any major medical or surgical disorder requiring an intensive rehabilitation program


The Rehabilitation Program focus:

  • adapting to and improving functional limitations
  • assist with adjustment to an altered lifestyle

The Rehabilitation Program services available:

  • physical therapy
  • occupational therapy
  • speech therapy
  • recreational therapy
  • community activities
  • counseling/support groups
  • help with incontinence
  • adaptive equipment fitting
  • nutritional assessment, management and counseling
  • professional nursing care
  • medication education/counseling
  • discharge planning
  • activities of daily living in kitchen and apartment
  • self-medication program
  • independent living apartment
    "Easy Street" (simulated community activities)
     
  • Easy Street is a part of the Specialty Hospital where patients can practice in realistic settings the skills they will need to return to the community. This area includes full-sized, realistic models of a grocery market, car, office, laundry, restaurant, bank and boat. Patients enjoy taking their first steps back to independence in this protected environment.
